Every pilot should be thoroughly familiar with the operating limitations or capabilities applicable to the airplane and its equipment. There can be little excuse for accidents that result from failure to observe or be aware of the airplane's flight limitations. A complete understanding of the pertinent FAA approved Airplane Flight Manual or the Pilot's Operating Handbook is important.
Just as important as the airplane's limitations, are the pilot's limitations - one cannot operate safely if the pilot exceeds his or her own capabilities. These are learned only through training and experience and an honest evaluation of one's knowledge and proficiency, as well as physical condition.
