PERSONAL ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
PASSPORT: Required
VISA: Required. (Must be obtained from an Afghan Embassy or Consulate before arrival. Persons arriving from areas where there are no Afghan consular establishments may be issued tourist visas upon arrival but should inform the Consulate Section, U.S. Embassy, of their arrival and length of stay.)
HEALTH & IMMUNIZATION: Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificates are required for travelers arriving from infected areas. U.S. Public Health Service advises that malaria risk exists throughout the country at altitudes below 2000 meters from May through November.
OTHER: If a notation is made in the passport of personal property in the possession of the bearers, i.e., cameras, etc., subject items as noted in passport must be in possession of person at time of departure.

AIRCRAFT ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Private and nonscheduled commercial aircraft overflying or landing for commercial or noncommercial purposes must obtain prior permission through diplomatic channel to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Democratic Republic of Afghanistan at least 7 days prior to departure (12 hours if overflying or landing for noncommercial purposes). All requests must include:
a. Name of airline or owner;
b. Type of aircraft, call-sign, and registration marks;
c. Name of pilot-in-command and route followed and itineraries;
d. Date and time of arrival and departure from Afghanistan, including location and time of entry to and exit from Afghanistan airspace;
e. Places of embarkation and disembarkation abroad of passengers and cargo;
f. Purpose of flight, number of passengers and type and amount of cargo;
g. Name, address and business of charterer, if any; and
h. A statement that the aircraft will not be carrying weapons, munitions of war, aerial photography and/or air reconnaissance apparatus.

SPECIAL NOTICES
1. All aircraft shall operate within designated air corridors. Flight outside these corridors is prohibited and may result in interception and possible anti-aircraft firing.
2. Night operations are prohibited without prior permission from the Directorate General of Air Operations, Civil Aviation and Tourism Authority.
