HEALTH & IMMUNIZATION: The U.S. Public Health Service advises that a malaria risk exists from November through May in that part of the country north of 21 degrees South Latitude.

OTHER: All persons are responsible for reporting to Botswana Immigration Officials immediately upon their arrival. All police officers of the rank of sub-inspector and above are immigration officers.

AIRCRAFT ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

1. All private and nonscheduled commercial aircraft overflying or landing for noncommercial purposes need not obtain prior permission; however, a flight plan must be on file and received by Botswana officials at least 48 hours prior to departure.

2. Nonscheduled commercial aircraft landing for commercial purposes must obtain prior permission and a temporary air service permit from the Director of Civil Aviation, P.O. Box 250, Gaborone, Botswana (TELEGRAPHIC ADDRESS: AVIATION GABORONE/TELEX: 2522DCAHQBD) prior to departure. All requests must be accompanied with a prepaid reply and must include:

a. Name and address of aircraft operator;

b. Flight number, type of aircraft and registration marks;

c. Date and time of departure, complete route of flight and date, time and airport of arrival;

d. Date, time and airport of departure from Botswana, complete route of flight and destination after leaving Botswana;

e. Name and nationality of pilot;

f. Type and amount of cargo;

g. Number and nationality of passengers; and

h. Name and address of charterer.
