PERSONAL ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

PASSPORT: Not required for U.S. citizens holding proof of citizenship such as a birth certificate, expired passport (if photograph still clearly resembles the bearer), U.S. naturalization certificate or a signed U.S. voter registration card. Aliens who are permanent U.S. residents must have their U.S. alien registration card to return to the U.S. A drivers license will not suffice as identification.

VISA: Not required if entry is to be made with a tourist card. Tourist cards are valid up to 60 days. To obtain a tourist card, a passport, birth certificate or other document indicating that the holder is a U.S. citizen is required, as well as a round trip ticket or proof of means of departure.

HEALTH & IMMUNIZATION: The U.S. Public Health Service reports that a malaria risk exists in areas near the Haitian border below 300 meters.

AIRCRAFT ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

1. Private aircraft overflying or landing need not obtain prior permission; however, a flight plan must be on file.

2. All nonscheduled commercial aircraft overflying, landing or making a technical stop must request prior permission, at least 48 hours in advance from the Director General de Aeronautica Civil, Edificio de Oficinas Gubernamentales, Av. Mexico esquina Dr. Delgado, Bolque "A", segundo nivel, Santo Domingo, Republica Domnicana (TELEGRAPHIC ADDRESS: DIRACIV SANTO DOMINGO/TELEX: DIRACIV) and must include provisions for prepaid reply. All applications must include:

a. Aircraft type and registration marks;

b. Name and address of aircraft owner;

c. Date of flight, departure point, route of flight and destination;

d. Name of pilot;

e. Purpose of flight;

f. Airworthiness certificate; and

g. Current insurance policy.

CORPORATE AIRCRAFT CONSTRAINTS

Must have permission of Civil Aviation Authorities to remain in country more than 30 days.

SPECIAL NOTICES

1. Flights en route between Santo Domingo and Port-au-Prince with IFR fly plan must cross the Dominican-Haitian border flying at 11,000 ft. minimum using direct route G-633 or 10,000 f. Flying route B-520 to Cabo Rojo, then A-315 to Port-au-Prince.

2. Pilots approaching Santo Domingo, particularly those inbound from the north, should be especially alert to avoid confusing De Las Americas International Airport with San Isidro (military airport) which lies within a prohibited area 6 nm, NW of Las Americas Airport.

3. Fuel available.
