HEALTH & IMMUNIZATION: Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificates are required for all travelers arriving from infected areas and also those arriving from countries in Africa, Central America, and South America, any part of which lies between 15 degrees North Latitude and 10 degrees South Latitude. Ghana recommends that all travelers be vaccinated. The U.S. Public Health Service reports that a malaria risk exists throughout the country.

AIRCRAFT ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
1. All private and nonscheduled commercial aircraft overflying or landing for noncommercial purposes must obtain prior permission from the Director General the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority, Private Mail Bag, Kotoka International Airport, Accra, Ghana (TELEGRAPHIC ADDRESS: AIRCIVIL ACCRA/TELEX: 2336 GHA CAA) at least 14 days prior to departure.
2. All private and nonscheduled aircraft landing for either commercial or business purposes, not at the official invitation of the Government of Ghana, must request prior permission from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Protocol Division, Accra, Ghana at least 14 days prior to departure for Ghana. All requests must include:
a. Name of operator;
b. Address of operator;
c. Type of aircraft,registration and call sign;
d. Estimated date and time of arrival;
e. Point of departure;
f. Name and address of charter or local agent;
g. Pilot's name and nationality;
h. Number of passengers and crew members on board;
i. Purpose of flight;
j. Type of cargo on board;
k. Type of arms and ammunition if any;
l. Route; and
m. Home base of aircraft.
3. Nonscheduled excursion flights require an operating permit from the Ghana Tourist Corporation, P.O. Box 3106, Accra, before applying for landing rights.
An operator or carrier intending to operate aircraft to or from Ghana for hire or reward must first obtain an air service license from the Air Transport Licensing Authority, P.O. Box 87, Accra.
