PERSONAL ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

PASSPORT: Required

VISA: Not required for U.S. and all Commonwealth Country Nationals except India. Not required for other countries for variable length of stay ranging from less than 7 days to less than 3 months. Special permission required for nationals of communist countries.

HEALTH & IMMUNIZATION: Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificates are required for travelers arriving from infected areas and for all travelers arriving from Panama and countries in Africa and South America, any part of which lies between 15 degrees North Latitude and 10 degrees South Latitude. The U.S. Public Health Service reports that a malaria threat (including chloroquine resistant P. Falciparum) exists throughout the country below 1,700 meters. A valid certificate of vaccination against smallpox is required for any international traveler.

AIRCRAFT ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

1. Private and nonscheduled commercial flights overflying or landing for noncommercial purposes within Peninsular Malaysia need not obtain prior permission; but, adequate advance notification should be given. Notification by flight plan addressed to the Kuala Lumpur Air Traffic Control Center (WMFC) if received at least 12 hours in advance of the aircraft's departure will be accepted as advance notification.

2. Private and nonscheduled commercial aircraft landing for commercial purposes within Peninsular Malaysia must obtain prior permission either by letter or reply-paid telegram from the Director General of the Department of Civil Aviation, Terminal 2, Subang-Kuala Lumpur International Airport 47200 Subang, Selangor, Peninsular Malaysia (TELEGRAPHIC ADDRESS: AIRCIVIL KUALA LUMPUR/TELEX: PENAWA MA 37960). Reply-paid telegrams must be of sufficient value to defray the cost of a reply. Written application is required at least 2 weeks and if by reply-paid telegram, at least 1 week prior to the aircraft's departure. If insufficient notice/information is given, the application may not be considered.

3. Private and nonscheduled commercial aircraft overflying East Malaysia (Sabah/Sarawak) need not obtain prior permission, but advance notification is required. For overflight, notification by means of a flight plan addressed to the Kinabalu Flight Information Center (WBFC) will be accepted as advance notification if received at least 24 hours in advance of the aircraft's departure. In addition, approval request of non-traffic or technical landings are to be forwarded to the Regional Director of Civil Aviation, Kota Kinabalu (WBKKYA), Sabah, East Malaysia to reach him at least 10 days before the intended departure.

4. Private and nonscheduled commercial aircraft landing for commercial purposes within East Malaysia must obtain prior permission by letter or reply-paid telegram from the Director General of the Department of Civil Aviation, Terminal 2 Kuala Lumpur International Airport, 50618 Subang, Selangor, Malaysia (TELEGRAPHIC ADDRESS: AIRCIVIL KUALA LUMPUT/TELEX: MA 37960). Copy of such requests should be extended to the Director of Civil Aviation, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia (TELEGRAPHIC ADDRESS: AIRCIVIL KOTA KINABALU). Chulan, Kuala Lumpur 05-10, Malaysia (TELEGRAPHIC ADDRESS: AIRCIVIL KOTA KINABALU/TELEX: NONE). Written application should reach the Director General of Civil Aviation at least 2 weeks and if reply-paid telegram at least 1 week prior to the aircraft's departure. If insufficient information is given, application may not be considered.

5. All permission requests must include:

a. Type and capacity of aircraft;

b. Nationality and registration marks of the aircraft;

c. Number of crew and name of person in command;

d. Name, nationality and address of registered owner of aircraft;

e. Name and address of operator (if different from owner);

f. Purpose of flight;

g. Complete route of flight (including points of landing and final destination);

h. Proposed timetable;

i. Nature of cargo (including dimensions and weight, if applicable);

j. Names, nationality and number of passengers on board, nature of flight, special event charter, casual tours, etc.;

k. Name and address of consignor and consignee, if applicable;

l. Name and address of tour organizer/charterer, if applicable;

m. Name, address and telephone number of operator's local agents, if applicable;

n. For charter flights, rate charged for flight; and

o. Any other information that may be relevant to the proposed operation.

CORPORATE AIRCRAFT CONSTRAINTS

Cabotage permitted if ``kept within limits appropriate to corporate needs''. No other constraints reported.
