HEALTH & IMMUNIZATION:

(PORTUGAL) Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificates are required only for travelers arriving from infected areas who are destined for the Azores and the Madeira Islands.

(AZORES) Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificates are required for travelers arriving from infected areas, except no certificate is required for travellers in transit at Santa Maria.

(MADEIRA ISLANDS)Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificates required for all travelers arriving from infected areas, except for travelers in transit at either Funchal or Porto Santo.

OTHER: (MADEIRA ISLANDS) Requests for visas may be made by letter and should be accompanied by a letter of recommendation indicating occupation, purpose of trip, length of stay and financial responsibility.

AIRCRAFT ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

(PORTUGAL & AZORES)

1. Private and nonscheduled commercial aircraft overflying or landing for noncommercial purposes need not obtain prior permission; however, a flight plan must be on file and received by ATC at least 2 hours prior to entering Portuguese airspace.

2. Nonscheduled commercial aircraft landing for commercial purpose must obtain prior permission from the Direccao Geral da Aviacao Civil, Avenida da Liberade 193, 1298 Lisbon Codex, Portugal, (TELEGRAPHIC ADDRESS: AEROCIVIL LISBOA/TELEX: 12120 AERCIV-P) at least 2 working days prior to departure.

3. All requests must include:

a. Name of operator;

b. Type of aircraft and registration marks;

c. Dates and times of arrival/departure;

d. Points of loading/unloading of cargo and passengers;

e. Purpose of flight;

f. Number of passengers and type and amount of cargo; and

g. Name, address and business of charterer, if any.

4. Affinity charter, student charter and inclusive tour charter flights are subject to special regulation and requests should be submitted on special forms available from the Direccao Geral de Aviacao Civil.

AIRCRAFT ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

(MADEIRA ISLANDS)

1. All private and nonscheduled commercial aircraft overflying need not obtain prior permission; however, a flight plan must be on file.

2. All private and noncommercial aircraft landing for commercial or noncommercial purposes must obtain prior permission from the Direccao Geral da Aviacao Civil, Avenida da Liberdade 193, 1298 Lisbon Codex, Portugal, (TELEGRAPHIC ADDRESS: AEROCIVIL LISBOA/TELEX: 12 120 AERCIV P) 48 hours prior to departure.

3. All requests must include:

a. Name of operator;

b. Type of aircraft and registration marks;

c. Dates and times of arrival, stopovers and departure;

d. Place(s) of embarkation/disembarkation of passengers and cargo;

e. Nature of traffic and purpose of flight; and

f. Name, address and business of charterer, if any.

CORPORATE AIRCRAFT CONSTRAINTS

SPECIAL NOTICES (PORTUGUESE TERRITORIES)

The Portuguese territories of Macao and in Southeast Asia require prior approval for all aircraft transiting over or landing.
