None reported; however, several countries will not accept South Africa originating flights.

SPECIAL NOTICES

1. Flights to and from Botswana, Lesotho and Swaziland must first land at or finally depart from a designated airport in the proximity of the border being crossed for passport control purposes. Pilots must report to the nearest police officer to obtain proper clearances prior to loading or unloading cargo or permitting passengers to depart the aerodrome. Aircraft departure may be made only after obtaining written permission from such police officer.

2. Aircraft operators and pilots can anticipate difficulties in obtaining overflight or landing clearances in other countries if there is evidence that their aircraft has been or will be traveling to Namibia. These may come from several countries in addition to those that restrict or prohibit flights to/from South Africa.

3. The Government of South Africa has granted "independence" to the homelands of Bophuthatswana, Ciskei, Transkei, and Venda. No other country has recognized the independence of these homelands and the United States does not have relations with their governments. Furthermore, evidence of past or future travel to or through the homeland, (including airports in Umtata, Mabatho, and Bisho) may result in difficulties in obtaining overflight and landing clearances in other countries. These are in addition to countries that restrict or prohibit flights to/from South Africa.
