AIRCRAFT ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

1. All private and nonscheduled commercial aircraft overflying or landing for noncommercial purposes need not obtain prior permission; however, a flight plan must be on file.

2. All nonscheduled commercial aircraft landing for commercial purposes must obtain prior permission from the Federal Office for Civil Aviation, 3003 Berne, Switzerland (TELEGRAPHIC ADDRESS: CIVIL AIR BERN/TELEX: 912601 OFACH/AFTN: LSSOYAYX) at least three days prior to departure for a single flight or a series of not more than three flights.

3. All requests must include:

a. Name and address of operator;

b. Type of aircraft, nationality and registration marks;

c. Dates, times and airports of arrival and departure from Switzerland;

d. Route of flight including point of origin, final destination and intermediate stops;

e. Category of flight;

f. Number of passengers and type and amount of cargo;

g. Proof of third party insurance coverage;

h. Name and address of charterer, if any;

i. For inclusive tour flights, services provided and price per passenger;

j. Certificate of competency; and

k. Declaration of reciprocity in those cases where Swiss carriers have not been granted reciprocal rights.

4. All nonscheduled commercial flights landing for commercial purposes, who are planning a series of more than three flights within three consecutive months, must request prior permission in triplicate on forms available from the Official Term Office for Civil Aviation Requests must be submitted no later than four weeks prior to departure of the first flight of the series.

All aircraft using Swiss airspace must have liability insurance covering damages to third persons and property on ground. For specific amounts required, refer to Switzerland Aeronautical Information Publication (AIP).

Private U.S. registered aircraft must pay customs duty on fuel.
