PERSONAL ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

PASSPORT: Required

VISA: Required, except for United States citizens visiting Togo for tourism or business for less than 90 days.

HEALTH & IMMUNIZATION: Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificates are required for all travelers. The

U.S. Public Health Service reports that a malaria risk exists throughout the country.

OTHER: An exit permit must be obtained by all visitors who remain in Togo for more than 10 days. The request for a permit may be obtained from the National Police Headquarters, and must be made 24 hours before departure time. For visits of less than 10 days, the traveler must fill out an embarkation card at the airport at the time of departure.

AIRCRAFT ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

1. All private and nonscheduled commercial aircraft overflying or landing for any purpose must obtain prior permission from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of Togo, Lome, Togo (TELEGRAPHIC ADDRESS: AVIATION CIVILE, LOME/TELEX: 5113 MINCOM TOGO). All requests must be submitted at least eight days in advance to receive a response prior to departure.

2. All requests must include:

a. Type and registry of the aircraft;

b. Name/ address of operator;

c. Origin of flight;

d. Date/time of arrival;

e. Reason for flight;

f. Name/nationality of pilot in command;

g. Number of crew;

h. Number of passengers;

i. Nature and quantity of freight;

j. Type, and amount and destination of cargo;

k. The name/address of the originator of clearance request must also be provided; and

l. Name/address of recipient of freight. The flight will be undertaken only when permission is received.

SPECIAL NOTICES

Aircraft coming from or flying to South Africa may neither overfly nor land in Togo.
