AIRCRAFT ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

1. All private and nonscheduled commercial aircraft overflying or landing for noncommercial purposes need not obtain prior permission; however, a flight plan must be on file and radio contact must be made with ATC authorities prior to crossing into the airspace of Trinidad and Tobago (Piarco Control Area).

2. All nonscheduled commercial aircraft landing for commercial purposes must obtain prior permission from the Director of Civil Aviation, P.O. Box 552, 89 Abercromby Street, Port of Spain, Trinidad, W.I. (TELEGRAPHIC ADDRESS: CIVILAV TRINIDAD/TELEX: NONE) at least 60 days prior to departure for passenger charter flights and 30 days prior to departure for cargo flights.

3. All requests must include all pertinent information concerning the flight and, for passenger flights, include:

a. A copy of the charter contract;

b. A complete passenger list giving names, addresses and passport numbers; and

c. A bond or irrevocable letter of credit executed in the favor of the Director of Civil Aviation for a sum equal to the prevailing one-way scheduled air fare between the point of the flight's origin and the point of the flight's destination for all passengers. (This bond may be posted with the Embassy in Washington, DC prior to departure.)

SPECIAL NOTICES

1. Passenger charters and cargo flights are not permitted to operate into Piarco between 6:00 PM and

12:00 midnight.

2. Customs, immigration and health clearances required for all international arrivals and departures.

General declarations also required.

3. VFR night flights are prohibited.

4. All foreign military flights require permission for overflights and for landings at airports within the Territory of Trinidad and Tobago.
