AIRCRAFT ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

1. All private and nonscheduled commercial aircraft landing for noncommercial purposes must provide 24 hours advance notification to the Direction du Service de L'Aeronautique du Burundi, B.P. 694, Bujumbura, Burundi (TELEGRAPHIC ADDRESS: AEROBU BUJUMBURA/TELEX: NONE).

2. Nonscheduled commercial flights landing for commercial purposes must obtain prior permission at least 3 working days in advance of arrival from the Direction du Service de L'Aeronautique du Burundi. Requests must include provision for pre-paid reply. Request must include:

a. Name of aircraft operator;

b. Type of aircraft and registration marks;

c. Radio call, dates and times of arrival/departure;

d. Purpose of flight;

e. Number of passengers and type and amount of cargo; and

f. Origin and destination of flight.

NOTE-
All aircraft overflying the territory of Burundi must follow the same procedures as for commercial flights. Requests for official flights must be submitted through diplomatic channels.

CORPORATE AIRCRAFT CONSTRAINTS

No internal constraints reported. Flights to/from or passing through South Africa may not land in or overfly Burundi.
