PERSONAL ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

PASSPORT: Required.

VISA: Required. (Except in direct transit)

HEALTH & IMMUNIZATION: Yellow fever vaccination certificates are required for travelers arriving from infected areas and for travellers arriving from Belize, Botswana, Trinidad and Tobago, and countries in Africa and Central and South America, any part of which lies between 15 degrees North Latitude and 10 degrees South Latitude. The U.S. Public Health Service advises that a malaria risk exists in June through October in areas near the Nile River.

AIRCRAFT ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

1. All private and nonscheduled commercial aircraft overflying or landing for commercial or noncommercial purposes must obtain prior permission. Applications for such permission should be submitted by operators or their agents by letter or reply-paid telegram to the Chairman Egyptian Civil Aviation Authority, Cairo International Airport, Cairo (TELEGRAPHIC ADDRESS: TAYARAN/TELEX: 93044 TYRAN UN/FAX: 20-2-247-0351) at least 7 days prior to departure. Urgent request will be taken on later than 72 hours prior to departure.

2. All applications must include:

a. Name and address of aircraft operator;

b. Type of aircraft and registration marks;

c. Date and estimated time of arrival at, and departure from, Egyptian airspace, including points of entry and exit from Egyptian airspace;

d. Place of embarkation or disembarkation aboard of passengers and/or freight; and

e. Purpose of flight indicating name, address and business of charterer, the number of passengers and/or nature and amount of freight to be loaded or unloaded.

SPECIAL NOTICES

1. No foreign aircraft shall be permitted to overfly Arab Republic of Egypt (A.R.E.) territory unless the operator of such aircraft has a designated in advance, and accredited authorized agent in A.R.E. who shall be responsible for payment of air navigation service fees.

2. No foreign military aircraft or civilian aircraft carrying military persons or equipment shall be permitted to enter, leave, or overfly the Egyptian Territory or to land in Egyptian airports unless applications thereof have been submitted through diplomatic channels and have been approved by the Ministry of Defense.
