AIRCRAFT ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Operators of all private and nonscheduled commercial aircraft landing for commercial or noncommercial purposes, must apply for permission to the Director of Civil Aviation, 46th Floor, Queensway Government Offices, 66 Queensway, Hong Kong (TELEGRAPHIC ADDRESS: AIRCIVIL HONG KONG/TELEX: 61361 CADHK HX; AFTN ADDRESS: VHHHYAYX; FAX: (852) 2877-8542) at least 3 working days in advance. All requests must include:

a. Aircraft type, nationality and registration marks;

b. Name of aircraft owner and operator;

c. Name of local agent and aircraft handling agent;

d. Number and nationality of all crew and passengers and type and amount of cargo;

e. Type of flight (own use, inclusive tour, etc.);

f. Name of cargo consignor and consignee;

g. Purpose of flight;

h. Flight numbers or call-signs and complete route of flight including dates and times of arrival and departure and points of landing en route;

i. Arrival and departure times clearance with the Hong Kong Scheduling Coordinator (SITA: HKGSPCX/ FAX: (852) 2521-8298);

j. Notification that the aircraft meets ICAO Annex 16 Vol I Part II Chapter 2 (for subsonic jet aircraft other than narrow-bodied subsonic jet aircraft) or Chapter 3 (for narrow-bodied jet aircraft) noise standards and a copy of the noise certificate or documentary proof of compliance to show that aircraft meets such requirements.

k. Notification that full navigational capability, including serviceable ILS, SSR transponder capable of functioning in Mode A and C, Two-way VHF radio with appropriate frequencies, VOR, ADF and DME, are available; and

l. Notification that sufficient fuel to divert to an alternate airfield from overhead Hong Kong will be carried.

SPECIAL NOTICES

Initial application from nonscheduled aircraft, landing for commercial purposes not having previously landed at Hong Kong should be submitted well in advance of the anticipated arrival date of the flight in Hong Kong to allow time to complete other necessary formalities, such as pilot's route and airport qualification (i.e. total flying hours, types of aircraft flown and previous experience of flying into Hong Kong), aerodrome operating minima information relating to operational limitations and requirements, insurance coverage (particularly third party insurance, details of which are contained in Kong Kong Aeronautical Information Publication (AIP) and evidence that the operating company is considered operationally competent.
