PERSONAL ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

PASSPORT: Not required for U.S. citizens holding proof of citizenship such as a birth certificate, expired passport (if photograph still clearly resembles the bearer), U.S. naturalization certificate or a signed U.S. voter registration card. Aliens who are permanent U.S. residents must have their U.S. alien registration card to return to the U.S.

A drivers license will not suffice as identification.

VISA: Not required for up to 6 months.

HEALTH & IMMUNIZATION: Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificates are required for travelers arriving from countries, any part of which is infected.

OTHER: U.S. citizens must have some form of identification, (i.e., birth certificate, voter's registration card, expired U.S. passport, etc.). A visa and work permit are required of U.S. citizens entering Jamaica to reside

and work.

AIRCRAFT ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

1. Private and nonscheduled commercial aircraft overflying or landing for noncommercial purposes need not obtain prior permission; however, a flight plan must be filed with Area Control Center, Norman Manley International Airport, Kingston.

2. Nonscheduled commercial flights landing for commercial purposes must obtain prior permission from the Secretary, Air Transport Licensing Board, c/o Civil Aviation Department, P.O. Box 8998, C.S.O., Kingston, Jamaica, W.I., (TELEGRAPHIC ADDRESS: CIVAV JAMAICA ATTN: SEC/ATLB; TELEX: 3702) (CIVAV JA) FAX: 809 922-7265, not less than 15 days in advance of the intended operation if the intended duration will be 30 days or less, or 60 days in advance of the intended operation if the duration will be in excess of 30 days. All commercial telegraphic requests must include provision for pre-paid reply.

3. All requests must include:

a. Name of operator;

b. Type of aircraft and registration marks;

c. Dates, times and airports of arrival and departure;

d. Places of loading and offloading of passengers and cargo;

e. Purpose of flight and number of passengers and/or type and amount of cargo;

f. Name, address and business of charterer, if any; and

g. Name of airport handling agent in Jamaica. Public charter applications must be accompanied by exact copies of associated applications to foreign states.

CORPORATE AIRCRAFT CONSTRAINTS

Flights within Jamaica to government general aviation airports other than Montego Bay/Sangster and Kingston/Norman Manley require ``coast-wise clearance'' from customs (no charge). Clearance from the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Public Utilities and Transport, is no longer required. Written permission of the Collector General and airfield owner are required to land at private airfields.

SPECIAL NOTICES

Pilots are reminded that aircraft on international flights shall not enter or leave the Island of Jamaica except from an airport of entry, (I.E. Kingston/Norman Manley or Montego Bay/Sangster International Airports.)
