PERSONAL ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

HEALTH & IMMUNIZATION: Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificates are required for all travelers, arriving from Panama and all countries in Africa and South America, any part of which lies between 15 degrees North Latitude and 10 degrees South Latitude. The U.S. Public Health Service reports that a malaria risk exists mainly on the oastal areas of the country.

OTHER: All passengers must show proof of means or method of departure, (i.e., onward or return ticket) from Mauritius upon arrival. Additionally, a valid visa for the next country of entry after departing Mauritius must be presented to officials upon arrival.

AIRCRAFT ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

1. Private aircraft overflying or landing for commercial or noncommercial purposes need not obtain prior permission; but must give 24 hours advance notification prior to arrival due to shortage of staff and parking spaces.

Nonscheduled commercial aircraft overflying or landing for noncommercial purposes need not obtain prior permission, but must give at least 7 working days advance notification prior to departure. Provision must be made for prepaid reply. Times of arrival and departure must be agreed to by the airport management before the flight takes place.

2. Nonscheduled commercial aircraft landing for commercial purposes must obtain prior permission from Director of Civil Aviation, Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport, Plaine Magnien, Mauritius Island (TELEGRAPHIC ADDRESS: CIVILAIR MAURITIUS/TELEX: 14896 DCAMAU) at least 7 working days prior to departure.

3. All requests must include:

a. Name of operator;

b. Type of aircraft and registration marks;

c. Date and time of arrival/departure from Mauritius;

d. Place(s) of embarkation/disembarkation abroad of passengers and/or cargo;

e. Purpose of flight, number of passengers and type and amount of cargo;

f. Name, address and business of charterer, if any; and

g. Cable address of operator. All requests must include provision for prepaid reply. Times of arrival/departure must be agreed to by the airport management before the flight takes place.
