PERSONAL ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

PASSPORT: Not required for U.S. citizens holding proof of citizenship such as a birth certificate, expired passport (if photograph still clearly resembles the bearer), U.S. naturalization certificate or a signed U.S. voter registration card. Aliens who are permanent U.S. residents must have their U.S. alien registration card to return to the U.S.

A drivers license will not suffice as identification.

VISA: Not required for up to 2 weeks.

HEALTH & IMMUNIZATION: Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificates are required for travelers arriving from infected areas.

AIRCRAFT ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

1. Private and nonscheduled commercial aircraft overflying or landing the territory of the Netherlands Antilles (the Caribbean Islands of Bonaire, Curacao, Saba, St. Eustatius, and the Dutch side of St. Maarten), and the territory of Aruba, for noncommercial purposes need not obtain prior permission; however, a flight plan must be on file and received by ATC authorities at least 1 hour prior to arrival.

2. Nonscheduled commercial flights landing for commercial purposes must obtain prior permission from the Director of Civil Aviation, Seru Mahuma z/n, Curacao, Netherlands Antilles (TELEGRAPHIC ADDRESS: CIVILAIR CURACAO/TELEX: 1102) at least 14 days (4 days if by commercial telegraph with prepaid reply) prior to departure.

3. All requests must include:

a. Name, nationality and business address of the company or operator;

b. Type of aircraft, nationality and registration marks;

c. Date and time of arrival and departure and airports to be used;

d. Route of flight;

e. Purpose of flight;

f. Number of passengers;

g. Type and amount of cargo;

h. Specification of the charter of transportation cost per individual; and

i. Copies of the insurance policy covering liability to third party and operating permit issued by the state of registry, if not already on file with the Director of Civil Aviation (these copies must be on file before the application will be considered).

SPECIAL NOTICES

1. Pilots not in possession of permission in writing upon arrival, when required, will not be permitted to conduct commercial activity (load or unload) at any of the Netherlands Antilles Islands.

2. VFR flights will not be permitted between sunset and sunrise anywhere within the Curacao Flight Information Region (FIR).

3. Parking facilities at St. Maarten Island, Prinses Juliana Airport, are limited and are subject to prior approval from the airport manager. Non-scheduled commercial aircraft landing for commercial purposes in particular should include in the landing request their estimated times of arrival, departure and length of time on the ground to permit CIVILAIR CURACAO to assist in obtaining a parking clearance before departure. All aircraft must verify parking approval with the airport manager prior to departure.

4. Due to frequent violations of Article 29 of the Convention on International Civil Aviation and of our national laws and regulations on the same subject, airmen are advised that strict inspection of aircraft documents and crew member licenses will be carried out and that failure to carry valid documents and certificates may result in legal prosecution.
