PERSONAL ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

PASSPORT: Required; however, transients stopping for up to 48 hours require no visa.

HEALTH & IMMUNIZATION: Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificates are required for all travelers arriving from infected areas. The U.S. Public Health Service reports that a malaria risk exists below 1500 meters in all areas of the country except Lima and the coastal area south of Lima. Isolated cases of chloroquine resistant P. Falciparum have been reported in the Northern Provinces bordering Brazil.

OTHER: In an application for a business visa, the applicant must include a letter from the firm he represents, stating occupation purpose of trip, length of stay and financial responsibility.

AIRCRAFT ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

1. All private and nonscheduled commercial aircraft overflying or landing for commercial or noncommercial purposes must obtain prior permission from the Direccion General de Transporte Aero, Ministry of Transports and Communications, Av. 28 De Julio, No. 800, Lima, Peru (TELEGRAPHIC ADDRESS: DIGTA LIMA-CALLAO/TELEX: 25511/25584) at least 48 hours prior to departure. All requests must include provision for pre-paid reply, and a response must be received with the exception that private aircraft capable of carrying no more than 6 persons are exempt from the requirements of obtaining a reply in response to their request.

2. All requests must include:

a. Name of the person making the request;

b. Names and nationality of the crew;

c. Aircraft type, nationality and registration marks;

d. Number of passengers;

e. Point of origin and point of destination of the flight;

f. Points at which commercial, technical or optional (alternate airports) landing may be made in Peru;

g. Reason for flight; and

h. Date of entry and departure from Peru.

3. Private and tourist aircraft of foreign registry must obtain after proper justification, permits to operate temporarily within Peru for the purposes of tourism, or for the study of economic-commercial possibilities in the regions visited. The request must contain the following information:

a. Names, nationality and temporary residence in Peru for the person making the request;

b. Names of owner, operator, pilot and passengers of the aircraft;

c. Lengths of stay in Peru;

d. Communications and camera equipment, including details on their characteristics, with which the aircraft is equipped; and

e. Purpose of the flight.

4. The Direccion General de Transporte Aero will grant this type flight permit and inform the applicants. The flight permit may be revoked at any time without recourse.

5. Prior to departure from Peru, all pilots are required to obtain a departure permit from the Direccion General de Transporte Aero.

SPECIAL NOTICES

1. To guard against possible delays in the event that the required request is not received, it is recommended that a copy of the message endorsed by the telegraph company be carried by the pilot to prove that the message was sent. It is further recommended that immediately upon arrival the pilot check with CORPAC personnel to ascertain that his permit for departure is in order; in this way delays may be anticipated and avoided if any difficulty about the permit is encountered.

2. Business travelers with "Business" visas are required to obtain an exit visa from the tax office prior to departure.
