VISA: Not required, but immigration officials will demand to see an onward ticket, itinerary, and sufficient funds to cover the proposed stay in country.

HEALTH & IMMUNIZATION: Cholera and Small Pox Vaccination Certificates are not required. U.S. Public Health Service advises that malaria risk exists in certain parts of the country.

AIRCRAFT ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

1. If an operator intends to perform a single or series of nonscheduled flights into Zimbabwe for the purposes of taking on or discharging passengers, cargo, or mail, he may do so after a permit has been issued by the Secretary for Transport and Energy, Air Services Board, Kaguvi Building, 4th Street, Box 8109, Causeway, Harare, Zimbabwe. 2. For a permit to be issued, an application must be submitted to the Secretary for Transport and Energy at least three days in advance of the intended flight into Zimbabwe. The application must include the following information in the order shown hereunder:

a. Name and address of operator;

b. Pilot's name and nationality;

c. Number of passengers for overflight clearance/name and nationalities for landing clearance;

d. Aircraft registration, type and colors;

e. Estimated time of departure and departure point; and

f. Purpose of flight, i.e. holiday, business, if business, address of company/if holiday, name of hotel or friend.

3. All arriving aircraft must forward advance notice (flight plan) to the Harare Flight Information Center and to the aerodrome of arrival if aerodrome is accessible by AFTN.

4. No prior clearance to land is required for private aircraft carrying seven passengers or less.

SPECIAL NOTICES

All aircraft flying above 15,000 feet (FL150) must be on IFR over the territory of Zimbabwe. This is an exception to ICAO norms. Night flying over Zimbabwean territory is prohibited to all nonscheduled aircraft not locally registered in Zimbabwe, except as permitted by prior arrangement. The foregoing is a security measure. On arrival and departure at Zimbabwean airports, individuals are subject to normal security checks including a body search for weapons. Strict currency regulations prohibit the import or export of Zimbabwe dollars in excess of 250. Departing individuals are subject to luggage and body searches.
