February 6, 1948, Cessna today unveiled their new aircraft to the public, the Cessna 170. This aircraft will provide comfortable seating for four. The aircraft model will be powered by a 145 horse powered Continental engine. The aircraft will be somewhat similar to the 140.

That is the aircraft has a high set braced wing and a fixed tricycle landing gear. The 170 will cruise at about 115 mph, fuel consumption about 8 gallons per hour. The aircraft has a starting price of $5,475 and it will be available to the public in March.
