American To Discontinue JFK-Frankfurt Service

August 25, 2000, Fort Worth, Texas -- American Airlines announced today that it will discontinue daily nonstop service between New York's Kennedy International Airport and Frankfurt, Germany, effective Nov. 1. American will continue to fly nonstop daily between Frankfurt and its major hubs at Chicago and Dallas/Fort Worth.

The airline said it is dropping the Kennedy  Frankfurt service, which it began in May 1999, because of disappointing traffic performance.

Through the Chicago and Dallas/Fort Worth gateways, American provides extensive connections to Frankfurt from points throughout the United States and other parts of its route system.
