The Wright Brothers Flyer III Is Rejected By The British Military

London, France, February 8, 1906, talks between the British military and the Wright brothers broke down regarding the sale of the Wright brothers Flyer III. The British government requested of the Wright brothers on several occasions to see actual demonstrations of the Flyer III in flight. However, because such demonstrations did not take place, CF Hadden, the Director of Artillery at the British War Department rejected the military’s offer to purchase a Flyer III.
