Cross City Radio To Provide IFR Position Reports  

Florida, August 1950, Flight Services for the Gainesville up and running.  Cross City Radio located at the Army Airfield in Cross City, Florida. will broadcast the information and will be part of the CAA, Civil Aeronautics Administration. The facility occupies two buildings(500 sq ft each). One building will host nine Radio Specialist. The other by Airway Facility personnel and with the communication equipment. The specialists primary role will be to relay IFR position reports to the Enroute Centers (Jacksonville and Miami) and the timely collection and dissemination of weather conditions and aeronautical data.
