AUGUST 28--The ground level ejection seat, designed and developed by the Martin-Baker Aircraft Co. Ltd., of England, and under evaluation by Grumman Aircraft for the Navy, was demonstrated at NAS Patuxent River. A successful ejection was made by Lieutenant Sydney Hughes, RAF, from an F9F-8T flying just above the ground at 120 m.p.h.
