Famous Explorer, Traveler And Writer, Martin Johnson Killed In A Plane Crash

On January 12, 1937, a Western Air Express Boeing 247 crashed into Stone Mountain, Saugus, California while attempting a landing at Burbank Airport in the fog and rain.

On board was Martin Johnson and 12 other passengers 6 other passengers were killed in the crash. Martin is well known for his book "Danger Trails In Africa". A book read by most junior and high school students today.
