The Federal Government Takes Control Of The Nation's Air Traffic Control System

November 1, 1941, The Federal Government assumes control of the nation's air traffic control system. It is to be controled by CAA. Atlanta ATCT is to be the first tower that will be placed under Federal control.

On November 15 to December 19, 1941, there will be air traffic control training. Graduates from this first training will help to establish air traffic control throughout the nation. In 1940 the Atlanta airport recorded 168,974 aircraft operations, making it one of the four busiest in the nation.
