Gulfstream G450 And G350 Receive Federal Aviation Administration Production Type Certificate
SAVANNAH, Ga., Nov. 29, 2004 – Gulfstream Aerospace, today received the Production Certificate (PC) for its large-cabin, long-range G450 and large-cabin, mid-range G350 business jets from the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) Atlanta Manufacturing Inspection District Office (MIDO). The PC confirms Gulfstream's production processes for the G450 and G350 are in compliance with Federal Aviation Regulation (FAR) Part 21. The FAA issued the PC after Gulfstream completed an FAA Production Certificate District Office audit, which examined Gulfstream's supplier, manufacturing and quality systems to ensure products are produced in accordance with the aircraft design. Gulfstream's President Bryan Moss and Chief Operating Officer Joe Lombardo accepted the PC from the FAA during a ceremony at Gulfstream's headquarters in Savannah, Ga. "This Production Certificate is a commendable achievement and serves as recognition to everyone in our Engineering, Materials, Operations and Quality departments," Lombardo said. |

"Because of their efforts, and the teamwork with the FAA, we were able to adopt the same systems used for the G500 and G550 despite the design and build differences of the G350 and G450." The FAA issued the Type Certificate (TC) for the G450 on August 12. The FAA issues a TC when it is confident the new aircraft has met all the airworthiness requirements as defined in FAR Pars 25, 33 and 34. On November 19, the G450 received a Type Certificate from the European Aviation Safety Agency, enabling the aircraft to be registered in 25 European Union countries. The first G450 will enter service in the second quarter of next year. Introduced in February this year, the G350 received its FAA Type Certificate November 1. The first G350 is expected to enter service in the third quarter next year.
