Thunderbirds Take To The Skies
June 1, 1953 the U.S. Air Force officially forms a air demonstration squadron that is to known as the thunderbirds. his squadron the 3600 third air demonstration team will be based out of Luke Air Force Base in Arizona. The Thunderbirds will perform precision aerial maneuvers demonstrating the capabilities of the United State Air Force high performance aircraft to people throughout the world. The squadron will exhibit the professional qualities the Air Force develops in the people who fly, maintain and support these aircraft. The aircraft that will be initial used will be the straight winged F-84G Thunder jet, a combat fighter-bomber. |
