Reach Tentative Agreement

Arlington, Va., March 25, 2000, US Airways and the Association of Flight Attendants (AFA), which represents 10,000 flight attendants at the airline, reached a tentative agreement on a new contract this morning. The agreement is subject to ratification by the union membership.

The AFA leadership and the company's management worked extremely hard to put in place an agreement that works for their flight attendants and allows the company to continue to compete in the marketplace. The airline is pleased that they were able to do so and that there will be no interruption in service or inconvenience for their customers. The Chairman, Ernest DuBester of the National Mediation Board and Senior Mediator Larry Gibbons played a major role in making this happen. US Airways will continue to operate its normal flight schedule.
