June 13, 2010 - Dominique Lanoise, age 40, of U.S. citizenship weighs almost 485 pounds traveled from Miami to Port-au-Prince Haiti on a private plane in November to be with her ailing mother.

Dominique remained in Dominica for the next several months. While there Dominique had learned her 5-year-old daughter living in Miami had died. Dominique tried franticly to get back to the states but the airlines refused to sell her a ticket because of her weight.

The country of Dominican Republic agreed to fly Dominique Lanoise back to Miami on a Dominican Air Force cargo aircraft. On Thursday a team of doctors accompanied Dominique aboard a Dominican military cargo plane that took off at 5:30 AM from the San Isidro Airbase and landed at Miami International Airport.

Dominique Lanoise was reunited with her family after being stranded on the Island for six months. "I am so happy to be here. I want to thank the president of the Dominican Republic and everybody for treating me so nice," Lanoise said after being reunited with her family. "I've caused enough problems." "We are so happy to have my mother back," one daughter said. "She is very loved."
