June 1, 2010 - Speaking at the first EU and Latin America Civil Aviation Summit in Rio de Janeiro on May 25- 26th the Civil Air Navigation Services Organization (CANSO) Director General, Graham Lake joined a high level panel of Air Traffic Management (ATM) leaders to address the importance in collaboration, challenges, safety and the impact aviation has on the environment.
“With air
transport in Latin America forecast to be among the fastest growing in
the world over the next 20 years, greater collaboration with other
regions is vital for addressing common challenges, as well as for
improving safety and reducing aviation’s impact on the environment.
CANSO
therefore applauds this constructive initiative, and looks forward to
supporting the next steps in increasing regional collaboration” said

CANSO – the Civil
Air Navigation Services Organization – is the global voice of the
companies that provide air traffic control, and represents the interests
of Air Navigation Service Providers (ANSPs) worldwide. CANSO Members are
responsible for supporting over 85% of world air traffic, and through
their workgroups.
