Aviation Career Expo Holds Job Fair For Pilots And Flight Attendants

October 12, 2010 - With the national unemployment rate topping 9.6 percent, no one is immune to the potential need to look for a job, even those with degrees and experience. Jetcareers website is doing their part to pair professionals and employers in the aviation field through their annual Aviation Career Expo, hosted Monday, October 18 at the Palms Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.

?It has really been quite the challenge planning this event on a number of levels,? says Doug Taylor, event coordinator and Boeing 767 pilot flying international routes for a major airline.

?Our entire staff consists of two people, myself and my bride Kristine Taylor, who has been laid off and delayed her search for employment in the civil engineering field to help aviation professionals find employment in a very tight job market. There have certainly been ups and downs, triumphs and tragedies, but overall I think we?ve succeeded in assembling a very comprehensive group of employment recruiters.?

Attending exhibitors looking for pilot and flight attendant hopefuls include: AirNet Systems, Delta Air Lines, Allegiant Air, Ameriflight, American Eagle Airlines, Kalitta Air, Polar Air Cargo, Atlas Air Worldwide, Visionary Aviation, Compass Airlines, Vision Airlines and Colgan Air. ?We are proud to offer such an array of domestic and international companies, and also very excited to have job recruiters on staff from locally-based companies like Allegiant Air and Vision Airlines that bring jobs to Las Vegas,? says Doug Taylor.

An aeromedical session with Dr. Walter Forred, a senior Aviation Medical Examiner and owner of MyFlightSurgeon.com will be taking place in a separate conference room. Ravi, representing Sennheiser USA, will be presenting ?Rejuvenating Aviation from the ground up?, and Air Line Pilots Association will be conducting an informational seminar covering industry issues as well.

http://jetcareers.com, a community of aviation professionals that perform community outreach in order to offer first-hand information about careers in aviation, hosts this annual meeting of aviation professionals and employers. Its founders firmly believe in the power of personal connections, which start with networking. ?Many of our members have gained employment simply through online and in-person networking and mentoring efforts,? says Jetcareers.com president Doug Taylor.

The career fair, brought to you by Jetcareers.com and sponsored in part by Airline Transport Professionals, Inc takes place Oct. 18 at the Palms Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, Nev.
