February 17, 2011 - CTX 9800 DSi, a explosives detection
system (EDS), by Morpho Detection has been certified by
the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) in a
high-speed configuration that processes in excess of 40
percent more bags than its fastest previously-certified
system while continuing to provide high-resolution 3D
imaging with the innovative data acquisition system,
Clarity.
The new high speed CTX 9800 offers operators the
possibility of reduced operational costs through
simplification of baggage handling infrastructure,
reduced maintenance requirements and fewer manual alarm
resolutions, while speeding more cleared bags to
aircraft faster. The CTX 9800 DSi is certified at a belt speed of 0.3 meters per second ? fast enough to screen more than 1,000 bags per hour, depending on bag size, spacing and overall capacity of the airport baggage handling system. |

This
throughput gives airports and security providers flexibility in
meeting increasingly strict screening requirements while
accommodating space and budget restrictions and better
satisfying airline and passenger needs. ?Morpho Detection is
pleased to offer a second TSA-certified configuration of the CTX
9800 DSi explosives detection system capable of effectively
screening checked luggage at the 1,000 bag-per-hour rate,? said
Dennis Cooke, president and CEO, Morpho Detection, Inc.
?Approval
of this new, faster CTX 9800 offers airports the flexibility to
meet competing demands of customer requirements, space and
budget while controlling operational costs.?
The
increased belt speed of the scanner?s high-speed configuration
increases the rate at which images are created and the
throughput airports demand. New algorithms provide TSA-certified
detection at speeds in excess of a thousand bags per hour. The
CTX 9800 DSi initially achieved TSA certification at a conveyer
belt speed of 0.2 meters per second. |
