Sonex Aircraft Featured On Hit Television Show The Aviators

By Mike Mitchell

December 5, 2012, - Sonex Aircraft is excited that the company and its products are featured in the hit television series, "The Aviators." The segment airs in episode 12 of the show's 3rd season, which is now available for purchase on iTunes.

"The Aviators" series boasts over 10 million viewers and can be found on public television stations across the United States, the Travel+Escape network in Canada, and in over 100 other countries worldwide, mainly on Discovery.

“The Aviators,” follows the adventures of a group of authentic pilots and aviation experts, launched its third and most intriguing season yet on PBS stations across the U.S.

John Monnett, Sonex Founder and President, and CEO Jeremy Monnett are prominently featured in the segment hosted by Kurtis Arnold, including an extremely fun introductory flight experience with Jeremy and Kurtis in the Sonex Sport Trainer.

"I had a blast flying with Kurtis during the filming of the segment," says Jeremy Monnett. "Kurtis was yanking-and-banking the Sonex after just a couple of minutes in the aircraft, his first experience in the type, and we were able to capture for the cameras what flying a Sonex Aircraft is all about. The huge smiles on both of our faces during the segment's flight sequences tell the whole story."

"We are extremely proud and excited to be a part of 'The Aviators' season 3," remarks Mark Schaible, General Manager of Sonex Aircraft, LLC. "We're featured in episode 12 with some pretty big-time company, right between the F-22 Raptor and Mötley Crüe front man Vince Neil! Our hope at Sonex is that this episode will see some of the season's highest ratings because of the Vince Neil appearance, and that watching Vince begin the process of learning to fly will inspire others to do so, while they also learn about a truly affordable path to aircraft ownership with Sonex Aircraft during the same half-hour of television. 'The Aviators' crew and producers were an absolute pleasure to work with, and we hope the opportunity arises to make more programming with them in the future!"
