The Time Machine Leading Actor Dies At 84
 
 

January 8, 2015 - Australian actor Rodney Sturt "Rod" Taylor died on Wednesday to a heart attack. Taylor was best know for his starring role in "The Time Machine" an H. G. Wells fictional novel that was published in 1885 and in 1960 turned into science fiction film. The film starred Taylor along with Alan Young and Yvette Mimieux. 

The time machine was a vehicle that allowed the operator to travel back into time. The term "time machine", was coined by Wells and today is now universally used to refer to such a vehicle. 

 

The H.G. Wells novel "The Time Machine" has been adopted into comic books, two feature films and it has inspired a number of writers to write books and movies of space travel.

Taylor is also know for his movie role in Twilight Zone, "The Birds", Seven Seas to Calais, And When the Sky Was Opened, Sunday in New York, Young Cassidy, Dark of the Sun, The Liquidator, The Train Robbers and many others. Taylor appeared in over 50 films. Taylor was 84 years old when he died, he was living in Los Angeles, California.
