October 14, 2015 - On Tuesday, a Piper Archer
aircraft, PA-28-180, N57312, had departed
Kissimmee
Gateway
Airport
in Orlando for
Palm Beach
County Park Airport
in West
Palm Beach, Florida with only its pilot onboard.
While on approach for Palm Beach County
Park Airport,
at about 5:30 PM the pilot who has been
identified as 64 year old Dan Shalloway
encountered an aircraft
stall which resulted in the Piper Archer
aircraft crashing into a mobile home just north
of the airport.
Upon impact the Piper Archer burst into a ball
of fire. Inside the mobile home was 20 year old
Banny Gallecia who died as a result of the fire.
Her father indicated his daughter was sleeping
inside the mobile home. He said he tried to save
her but the flames and heat were too intense.
