August 16, 2015 - A twin engine turboprop, ATR
42 aircraft owned and operated by Trigana Air
Service of Jakarta, Indonesia crashed into
Tangok mountain range in the Oktabe district of
Papua province in Indonesia with 54 people
onboard; 49 passengers and five crew member.
Flight TGN 267 departed
Sentani
Airport in Jayapura at 2:22 PM local
time and was scheduled to land in Oksibil, a
district in Papua, Indonesia
at about 3:16 PM. 33 minutes into the flight,
ATC lost radio contact with Flight TGN 267. It
was reported that that the pilot had not made a
distress call.
On Sunday Air Transportation Director General
Suprasetyo said, The latest information is that
the Trigana aircraft that lost contact has been
found at Camp 3, Ok Bape district in the Bintang Mountains
regency."
